SUNDERLAND have reportedly bid £10m for Everton striker Andy Johnson, as Roy Keane increases his search for injured frontman's Kenwyne Jones's replacement.

With fears the Trinidad and Tobago star could be out for nine months with a knee injury suffered last month, Keane is desperate to bring in a quality attacker to lead the line for Sunderland.

In recent days Tottenham's Darren Bent and James Beattie from Sheffield United have been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light.

But this mornining emerged Everton's Johnson, 27, who is also wanted by Aston Villa and Man City, is now Keane's top target.
