SUNDERLAND boss Roy Keane always felt Arsenal might get something out of the game even after the Londoners fell behind and was unsurprised by Fabregas's 93rd minute equaliser.
He said: "The game goes all the way to the final whistle and you can score a goal anytime.

"We weren't celebrating the end of the game when Grant scored – we knew there was eight or nine minutes to go – and we've had plenty of situations where we've scored last-minute goals.

"I just think we couldn't do it at the end but that's what happens in football.

"We might have done better in the final moments when we had possession of the ball but we learn from that.

"At the end of the game is where you have got to be street-wise – I am sure if Dioufy was on late on, he would have got the ball into the corner, held four men off and won a free-kick.

"But I can't take that away from us, we are naive but that is part of the attraction with me.

"My players are tuned into going forward and I can't knock that – remember it has won us a lot of games and it got us promoted two years ago.

"I see teams being cagey but we have never been cagey even against Arsenal and we were still positive even at the end with people getting into the box and ahead of the ball.

"That is the mentality at the club and I have no problems with that – I don't want to be associated with a club that is negative anyway.

"There is nothing wrong with killing some time and there is an innocence to us which can disappoint me at times, like at the end of this game, but overall that is part of the package.

"There are moments players lose possession and you're just able to get on with it. Then there are defining moments in games, moments where players can make the wrong decision and it can cost you but on this occasion I am not pointing the finger at anybody.

"I thought the players' efforts were outstanding and as a club we are very positive.

"None of our players should be disappointed. They should be delighted and even the late goal was not a negative.

"There is no anger from me whatsoever and we had a very positive chat after the game."

Now Keane says he can see only improvement for his squad in the months ahead.

He said: "My players are learning about Djibril Cisse for example, what sort of passes he likes and he is still getting his fitness up to scratch too.

"I always said it took me eight or nine games to get into the swing of things and our lads are no different.

"In a couple of weeks a couple more players may be available and hopefully lads will come back okay from international duty and with the likes of Djibril getting stronger all the time, it is looking good."
