CRAIG GORDON hopes Sunderland can start blending solidity with creativity.
The Black Cats were probably worth a draw at Aston Villa last weekend, but couldn't convert their possession into goalmouth danger.

Gordon believes Roy Keane's side is looking an organised outfit this season but needs to be more of a threat going forward.

The Scotland international goalkeeper said: "We didn't create as much as we would have liked at Villa and that was the most disappointing thing.

"It was a reasonable away performance and apart from two set-pieces, we were comfortable.

"The Man City game apart, I think that's generally been the case this season.

"We've looked reasonably solid but we're working on combining that with
how we move the play forward.

"That's not a criticism at any of the attackers because we all play a part in helping the team get forward.

"Against teams like Aston Villa and Arsenal this weekend, when we know the quality they have going forward, we have to hurt teams more on the break.

"Apart from the good goal we scored at Villa, we didn't create a lot."
