ROY KEANE says the door is open for Carlos Edwards to return to Sunderland once he regains his form and fitness.
The speedy winger left the club this week on a three-month loan spell at Mick McCarthy's Wolverhampton Wanderers.

But the Black Cats' boss insisted he could zip straight back in at Wearside if he shows the same form of old.

Keane said: "There is definitely a good chance of Carlos coming back – ideally that's what we want. But we think this is the best possible move for him at this moment in time.

"He's gone to a club that's flying high and hopefully will get the best out of him. Carlos needs games – he's still playing catch-up with the other players and he is one of those players who needs to play a lot of football to get back to his best.

"Some players can just come straight back in and pick up where they left off but others need a run of games to recapture their best form and I think that is the case with Carlos."
