Guyan set for record Cats move
ASAMOAH Gyan arrived at Sunderland's training ground early today hoping to become the club's record signing.
The Ghana striker landed in the North East yesterday after talks between Sunderland and his club Rennes reached an advanced stage.
If, as is expected, he completes his switch, the deal will eclipse the 10million Sunderland spent on Darren Bent last summer and will be welcome because Fraizer Campbell is facing a long absence.
The Black Cats refused to confirm today's reports that Campbell will be out for nine months with a cruciate ligament injury suffered against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Gyan deal looks set to be the only deadline day arrival at the Stadium of Light.
