Sunderland were backed by an 1,800-strong away following at the Kassam Stadium and there were brilliant scenes at the full-time whistle as fans and players celebrated the 1-0 win.
A header by Jordan Willis less than two minutes in was enough to seal a big three points for Phil Parkinson’s side, Sunderland are now just three points off the top of League One after three straight victories and clean sheets.
