Stephen Elliott: This is why Ross Stewart can shine for Sunderland next season
and live on Freeview channel 276
He offers something a bit different than what we have seen all season in a red and white shirt.
He seems to really embrace being a Sunderland player and I feel he is the type that will rise with the crowd and prosper rather than cower.

Hide AdI think having a good pre-season in the bank will be hugely beneficial to him and he will be an important player next season.
In the few games he has played, his all-round game has been really positive and he offers the team a great outlet.
He runs into areas that cause opposition defenders to be uncomfortable. Considering his size he shifts well too and that is something that Sunderland have not had for the majority of the season up top.
Importantly I see him scoring a lot of goals too and I think he looks suited to playing in both a lone forward role as well as in a pairing.
He is a good age and I feel he can grow with the club.

Hide AdIt’s just a shame we only seen him towards the latter parts of the season as he could have taken some of the onus off Charlie Wyke when he went though his barren spell.
I think he is going to be a big star in League One next season.
It’s up to the powers at the club now to continue to find similar players of that ilk going forward.
