They'd made history and the boys of 1973 went off to Majorca afterwards.

We all know what happened on the Wembley pitch 50 years ago.

Once they had won the Cup, Sunderland's players headed for a week off in the sun.

An Echo photographer was there to get them looking refreshed and ready for the new season when they landed back in the North East.
