TALL ships organisers can breathe a sigh of relief – Hartlepool looks like being a rain-free zone for England's biggest spectacle.
And even if the town does get some inclement weather, it's likely to be only showers rather than summer storms.
Experts at the Met Office have issued a UK outlook forecast for the first 10 days of August.
It shows that, while the weather remains changeable, showers are likely to be most frequent in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwestern England.
Winds will be mostly light or moderate, but sometimes brisk in the North-East.
And temperatures are predicted to be generally close to average for this time of the year.
