A thug who was initially spared jail after attacking a paramedic is now behind bars after flouting the terms of his original sentence.

Kirk Lee Scott was imprisoned for eight weeks after what magistrates labelled as “a willful and persistent failure to comply with the requirements of a community order” and a “flagrant disregard for court orders”.

Scott, 38, of St Leonard’s Street, Hendon, Sunderland, was originally placed on a community order in September after he was convicted of assaulting a paramedic in the city on March 11 and committing theft and criminal damage on May 15.
