PETER Mandelson is reportedly ready to include Hartlepool in his new title when he takes his seat in the House of Lords on Monday.
The former town MP, who made a shock return to the cabinet as business secretary in Gordon Brown's latest reshuffle, is believed to be taking the title of Lord Mandelson of Foy in the County of Hertfordshire and of Hartlepool in the County of Durham.

Many former MPs often choose to have their former constituency recognised if they are granted a peerage.

But reports today suggest Mr Mandelson has chosen to have the name of the small village of Foy ahead of his reference to Hartlepool.

Sources close to London-born Mr Mandelson claim he has fond memories of Foy after some childhood visits.

He was MP in Hartlepool from April 1992 until September 2004 when he stood down to take on a position as European Commissioner in Brussels.
