THE Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts were just some of the characters that featured in a performance before an audience of enchanted schoolchildren.

Children from Acre Rigg Infants' School, in Peterlee, were treated to a performance of Alice In Wonderland by the travelling theatre group M&M Productions.
The pupils, aged four to seven, sat enthralled as Lewis Carroll's popular tale of Alice's adventures was retold on stage.
