Our special day

A ROMANCE to remember blossomed for loving couple Cathryne Swallow and Paul Farman - and it all started with a touch of humour.

Beaming bride Cathryne, 27, laughed as she recalled how she and her husband Paul, 29, first met at the hotel in Lancaster where she was working.

Hartlepool lad Paul was there in his job as an electrical technician and was staying as a guest at the hotel.

Cathryne, now a pharmacy assistant, recalls: "I was a waitress at the time and he kept on asking me for all kinds of sauces. He was making a nuisance of himself and it was quite funny when I look back.

"He was asking for every type of sauce you could think of."

Soon after, the pair hit it off and Paul asked Cathryne out. A day trip to Blackpool followed and Cathryne said: "That was lovely. We had a good time together."

Paul proposed two years ago on Cathryne's birthday before whisking her off for a holiday at Center Parcs.

The couple now live at Seaton Carew and enjoyed their big day at the Staincliffe Hotel.

Joining them were their three children Chloe, aged nine, Ellie, aged five, and eight-year-old Owen.

Both daughters were among the six bridesmaids as well as Wendy Dixon (the groom's sister), Cathryne's sisters, Gemma Swallow and Imogen Riding, and her niece, Maddison Swallow.

Paul's brother Christopher was best man.

The couple's wedding took place in the Baron's Room at the Staincliffe Hotel and Cathryne laughed as she recalled: "We danced out at the end to That's Amore. It raised a bit of a laugh."

The couple enjoyed their first day at their evening reception to Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.
