Time for Turner to leave right now!

I FEEL I must write to the Letters page following the alarming situation at Victoria Park since director of sport/manager Chris Turner took control of the playing side of the club (a sad day).

What is Ken Hodcroft, the chairman, doing about the plight of the club?

I attend all the club's home games and buy the club's programme hoping Mr Hodcroft will explain why Turner remains in charge of the club.

I noticed the chairman's notes did not appear for the Huddersfield game. Recent notes have said nothing of the shocking state of the playing side of the club.

I spent the weekend looking at the failure after failure of Turner in Google searches.

His record as a manager is nothing short of pathetic.

He took Sheffield Wednesday to their lowest position ever and Stockport were heading out of the league when, like at Sheffield Wednesday, he was sacked!

His many purchases during his second spell here are at best below average – Behan, McSweeney, Haslam, Greulish, Larkin, Fredriksen, Bjornsson and Hartley would all struggle to find another league club.

Whoever the club employs as scout wants sacking too.

What a great shame Swindon boss Danny Wilson (ex Pools) was not given the financial backing Turner and his assistant Colin West have been given and squandered.

The sad thing about it is that Turner will not accept he is a failed manager and my bet is he will be involved in any future managerial appointment.

It's all a very sad state of affairs and it sickened me to read in the Mail after the Huddersfield game that Turner is planning for another relegation campaign and is still to blame himself for anything.

Please Turner, show us you really care about Hartlepool United Football Club and leave ... now!

Mark Illingworth,

Blackhall Colliery.
