ASPIRING businesswoman Gail Angus is hoping it's a case of up, up and away for her new outlet.
The 37-year-old has just opened a shop called Balloons Galore and More in The Arches, in Hartlepool.
The mother-of-four says she is determined to make a go of what is her first ever venture into the business world. She was previously a full-time mum to Warren, now 18, Megan, nine, Gabriel, four and ten-month-old Charlie.
Now she's opened up premises in Park Road and will supply balloons for all occasions to christenings, birthdays, weddings, engagement parties and other events.
Her outlet also sells gift bags, cards and wrapping paper and Hartlepool woman Gail says she has already had her first function within a week of opening.
She explained how it all started: "I got married last year in the USA and I was sourcing balloons out there, looking out for things on the internet.
"I also do my own hand-made cards for myself and my family and I plan to continue doing that."
Gail, who is married to Johnpaul, also 37, said support from her family had been "invaluable".
She said her feelings at starting up her very first business were a mix of excitement and nerves but she added: "I have got the go in me to make a real go of this.
"I am not one of these people who give it a couple of weeks. I know it will take time."
Gail's first function was a christening where she supplied both table balloons and a particular balloon for the cake table.
But it's not the only order as Gail explained: "I have got another christening and an 18th birthday party.
"I want to get myself established and become a success and I have had loads of backing as well as lots of good luck cards."
