A COMPANY has added to its credentials just weeks after announcing plans for expansion.
Castledene – based in the Novus Business Centre in Peterlee – has become a member of the Property Ombudsmen and the National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS).
It is the only property management company in the area to have the accreditation, say b
osses.
Managing director John Paul said: "We have a defined level of care, not only to landlords, but also to the tenants. Coupled with our other companies of Castledene Construction and Castledene Property Investments we are in a unique position to offer investors and tenants the perfect property package.
"We feel that becoming accredited is a necessary step to professionalise the industry.
"At present there are too many disputes between tenants, investors and letting agents due to lack of policies and procedures, accreditation will certainly reduce the potential pit falls for all parties concerned."
Castledene revealed to the Mail recently how it had expanded three times and a fourth move was on the cards.
As well as that expansion, a separate Castledene office could be set up in Hartlepool to give the company a presence in the Tees Valley.
Castledene started off with two members of staff who were John and his business partner Mark Weber.
It now employs 16 full-time staff and two part-time workers.
The company is three firms in one. Castledene Property Investment offers properties to landlords who invest in the local area.
Castledene Property Management manages properties on behalf of absent landlords.
Meanwhile, Castledene Construction handles refurbishments and extensions.
